Description

Herzegovina (“Duke’s Land”) as southwest part of Bosnia and Herzegovina is region fully packed with diverse and unique history, stunning nature, variety of food, unique sorts of wine, plentiful of turquoise waters, rocks and sun, and place where you get to experience harsh and mild, hot and cold, spite and tolerant, healthy and bit more healthy, and all that in the same time of the same day.

We have created day trip - tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik (or Dubrovnik to Sarajevo) to connect Sarajevo and Dubrovnik in the most natural way possible, and to offer our guests the best there is in one day.

After 8 am start morning ride will take us through interesting suburbs of Sarajevo and areas of central Bosnia until we pass Ivan mountain and enter Herzegovina region.

First stop of the day is short visit to old part of Konjic town. Unique, prehistorically inhabited, famous for 17th century 6-arch Old Bridge, looming over turquoise Neretva river, usually very sunny place, is day’s perfect start.

Ride continues by passing large, dammed but very beautiful Jablanicko lake, with short stop at Jablanica where we learn WW2 story of “Neretva Battle” and “sniff” into the way how our greatest delicacy, famous roasted lamb on the spit is made.

As soon as we arrive to Mostar we’ll start our 2 to 3 hour walking tour which will cover most important sites and locations in Mostar. We focus at Mostar’s Old Bridge, Old Bazaar and Old Town, but offer stories of Mostar’s uniqueness, in regards to historical and cultural diversity.

We learn about the Bridge, it’s rise and fall, and how it had risen again. We learn about Siege of Mostar, its pre and post siege period. We learn about why it is called Mostar. We learn about Mostarians. We recreate Mostar for you and with you. In Mostar we give free time if needed and continue towards Blagaj which is our next stop.

Blagaj town is home to Buna river spring - Europe’s most beautiful, most powerful, clean and drinkable karst river spring, settled beneath few hundred meters high rock. Water comes out of quite large but stunningly deep cave, which springs amazing 43 cubic meters of water per second.

Just next to the spring, under the rock, is home to Blagaj Tekke - Dervish house, dating most likely pre or early Ottoman era from early 16th century, as unique sacral-residential example of Islamic architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lunch stop is planned in Blagaj, in a restaurant overlooking the beautiful spring of Buna and Dervish house.

Stunningly nested above Neretva river, visit to Počitelj (“Počivati” - Bos.”to rest in peace”), unique, medieval, Ottoman era glorified, present day Ottoman-Mediterranean style architectured fortress - town Počitelj, is one of the very few urban ensembles in Bosnia and Herzegovina preserved in their integrity to the present times.

After we are done with our Počitelj explorations we are not too far away from Dubrovnik and there is one more stop to go. Get ready for highlight of the day, small Niagara’s on Trebižat river, with its travertine sedimentation, unique and breathtaking - Kravica waterfalls.

If you are conducting this tour in summer time feel free to bring along swimsuit and join us for some chilling swim, or at least to cool your feet along a good drink.

Arrival to Dubrovnik is around 8 pm.
